The Torch Leadership Foundation promotes and supports religious freedom in the United States and the defense of those who are persecuted for their faith around the world. We believe that it is one of the responsibilities of the government to ensure that people are able to worship freely and to live according to the principles of their religion. When religious beliefs come into conflict with government policy, people should not be forced to violate their conscience.
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
